Sometimes they just don't like the sound of the next book in the series and so they never buy the rest. Sometimes too much time passes between the books and they lose interest. Sometimes attrition happens because a reader bought and didn't like the first book, so they don't go on. The next book in the series would likely sell at 50% of Bitter Heat's sales, so 13% of Slow Heat, etc, amen. I can probably anticipate that Bitter Heat will sell 50% of what Alpha Heat sold (or 25% of what Slow Heat sold). So, for example, Alpha Heat has sold 50% of Slow Heat.
